We are an organisation established in 1989 by the members of the Helsinki Committee in Poland.
Our mission is - the development of the human liberties and rights culture, both domestically and abroad.
Since 2007 we have Consultative Status with the United Nation's Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

HC statement on brutal repressions by the Chinese army and paramilitary People's Militia against Tibetans2008-03-20 The Polish Helsinki Committee and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights have been advocating for the rights and freedoms of Tibetans for years.
At this time, in the face of the continuing wave of brutal repressions by the Chinese army and paramilitary People's Militia, which are putting down the protests of Tibetans by killing tens of defenseless people, we expect the authorities of the Republic of Poland to take a clear position with respect to Tibet and immediately undertake decisive steps toward appointment of a Union Coordinator for Tibetan Issues equipped with a broad political mandate that would create opportunity for effective action toward immediate cessation of repression and direct talks between the Dalai Llama and the highest authorities of the People's Republic of China. |
